How much headroom is needed inside the garage for the top box?
For our roller doors, you will ideally need 300mm square. But we also have the option of a 250mm box for limited headroom.
How much height will I lose if the top box is fitted below the lintel?
Along with the space for the top boxes (300mm square), you should also allow for about 77mm extra for the protrusion of the last slat to fit into the guide runner, totalling about 377mm square.
Do your doors have an external manual override?
All of our doors come as standard with an internal manual override. However, external manual overrides are offered as an option to allow entry to their garages in case of a power cut.
How wide are the guide runners?
The guide runners range from 75mm wide either side to 89mm wide or 110mm wide. Depending on the opening width of your garage.
What are your colour options?
Our doors are available in 25 colours ranging from white, anthracite, blue, red, and green to wood effect. Please see our style page colour chart for the full range of colours.
Are your roller garage doors insulated?
Our doors are made from double-skinned aluminium and are insulated with a foam-filled insert, adding extra security to your garage and home.
How is the thickness of a 77mm roller garage door slat measured?
The correct way to measure the thickness of a 77mm insulated aluminium slat is across the maximum front-to-back depth of the slat body, excluding the interlocking hook sections.
For our 77mm profile, the design thickness is 18.5mm (subject to normal manufacturing tolerances).
Where is the measurement taken?
The thickness is measured:
- At the widest structural section of the slat
- Perpendicular to the slat faces
- Across the main body of the profile
- Not including the rolled hook interlock lips
This is the standard engineering method used in CAD design, extrusion tooling, and quality control.
Why aren’t the hook lips included?
The hook sections are part of the interlocking system, not the structural body of the slat. They can vary slightly due to forming and load movement, and therefore are not used to define total profile thickness.
The structural body measurement is what determines:
- Wind load performance
- Door stability
- Curtain roll diameter
- Guide channel clearance
- Barrel wrap radius
What does 77mm refer to?
The “77mm” refers to the face height of the slat, not the front-to-back thickness.

- 0.3–0.5mm – Aluminium wall thickness per skin
Each measurement serves a different purpose in design and performance.
Do your doors have safety edges installed?
Wireless safety edges come as standard on all our garage doors near me. Our wireless safety edges also have a 3-minute courtesy light fitted to the control box as an additional benefit during nights and mornings.
Are your doors electric or manual?
Remote controls electrically operate all of our doors and come with internal or external manual override, depending on what is required.
What security do your doors have?
Our roller garage doors are manufactured without exterior handles to prevent them from being forced. Our doors are fitted with security locking straps to apply extra strength as a standard precaution.
How many handsets do the doors come with?
Our roller doors come standard with two handsets, although up to 25 can be used with one door. More can be purchased if required.
Do you install the roller doors?
Yes, we offer a complete end-to-end solution, from survey to installation to removing the old door from the site.
What warranty do the doors come with?
Our electric roller garage doors come with a five-year warranty; this covers manufacturing faults but excludes wear and tear and accidental damage.
Are your automatic electric roller garage doors weather-resistant?
Fitted with a double brush feature in the guide runners, a fully enclosed top box, and a rubber weather strip in the last slat to seal the entrance are all included in our garage doors near me, offering excellent weather resistance for your garage.
